Rory Calhoun, the man the legend

Simpsons Quote of the Day:

Burns: Look at him Smithers, that’s the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen, you know who he reminds me of?

Smithers: Snoopy

Burns: No.

Smithers: Snoop Doggy Dog!

Burns: No, you know that fellow, who’s always standing and walking.

Smithers: Rory Calhoun?

Burns: Yes, Rory Calhoun. Look at him standing there on his hind legs, like Rory Calhoun.

Rory

Rory Calhoun, born as Francis Timothy McCown on August 8, 1922 in Los Angeles California USA. Died April 28, 1999 of emphysema and diabetes.  Frankie McCown’s father died shortly after he was born.  As he developed he decided in the late 1930s to drop out of highschool and seek a life of crime.  He stole a car in 1940, and served a 3 year sentence. Somehow he was in a film in 1941 though. After leaving jail he was spotted by agent turned actress Sue Carol. He was in a number of films from this point until 1992.  He played roles ranging from disgusted matador (The Bullfighters 1945, uncredited) to General George Meade in the 1982 mini series "The Blue and Gray."

While he was known for often standing and walking, he also rode horse back.
